MAC Look In A Box Lip Kit in Fashion Lover

This MAC Look In A Box Lip Kit was part of this year's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last July. MAC had this set (plus another kit in Nude) on sale on their website recently so I decided to get this one to try out more of their lip products.

MAC Look In A Box Fashion Lover Lip Kit includes:
- Lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous (bright plum matte) (0.1 oz.)
- Lipglass in Rhythm (bright purple with pearl) (0.16 oz.)
- Lip Pencil in Heroine (bright purple) (0.05 oz.)

MAC Lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous

MAC Lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous (0.1 oz.) is a bright plum with a matte finish. This shade is actually part of the retro matte collection so I expected this to be on the dry side (it's less dry compared to Ruby Woo). The color is unique, pretty and unexpectedly bright. I thought this would be a moodier color but surprisingly applied almost neon-y (i.e. Candy Yum Yum). That being said, I do look the color on me. It's very flattering against my coloring and despite being bright, is not loud.

MAC Lipglass in Rhythm

MAC Lipglass in Rhythm (0.16 oz.) is a bright purple with pearl. I'm not much into lip gloss at the moment so I haven't tried this on yet.

MAC Lip Pencil in Heroine

MAC Lip Pencil in Heroine (0.05 oz.)  is a bright purple. I was really excited to get this as I've read great things about MAC's lip pencils. I tried this on all on it's own and I was not disappointed with how creamy and smooth this is. Is it worth the hefty price tag? Maybe. I will need to see how this looks and performs under a lipstick.
