Hey everyone. Christmas season officially began the start of September, with the -ber months now in full swing (and also this: September). I was supposed to post this product review on the first day of the month in time to welcome hearing Christmas songs everywhere but I waylaid by a sudden bout of flu which is is still in full swing up to now. Anyways, I am now well enough to muster up this short product feature - the cult favorite Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector.

I got this one some months ago when Sephora Ph was having their annual sale. Topaz was the only shade at 50% discount. I don't technically need this one as I already have the poured versions of Moonstone, Opal and Rose Gold but this was cheap enough to justify the purchase even just to try out the Becca's original, liquid formula.

Topaz is described as a "golden bronze pearl." It's a medium dark, copper brown with very fine gold shimmers. The shade is too dark for me to use as a highlighter. I use this as a sort of blush / bronzer and put on top of my cheekbones and other high points of my face for a subtle contour.

This has a very thin consistency, almost watery formula. It spreads very well and easily on the skin. The skin on my face is oily and I have observed that the liquid is very easy to apply, without dragging but it didn't feel silicone-y (a good thing). I also had no problems applying the product on the drier parts of my skin (i.e. on my arms) and it applied as smoothly and evenly as it was on my oilier face.

I would imagine that for those wanting to achieve a glowy, bronze-y complexion, this can easily be mixed with other bases like your moisturizer, sunscreen, primer, and foundation and then applied all over the face.

The glow it provides is very subtle, more like a dewy, luminous finish rather than a full-on, in your face highlighter/illuminator. The shimmers are almost unnoticeable and this provides enough color (coverage) for it to be used as a blush or subtle contour.
