Hello there! The humid weather can't dampen my enthusiasm for this today's post. I did a
sneak peek of this lipstick last week and I'm finally able to do a proper review. Yey. I am slowly building up my army of matte, nude lipsticks. Nudes are
pretty much a staple in any makeup collection and will never go out of
style. It's also very easy to wear and if you can find your own personal
nude (my lips but better) lipsticks, you'll be together forever. *_*

I feel like I am still searching for that perfect MLBB shade which will suit me best. I have tried with Velvet Teddy, then Kinda Sexy and just recently
Taupe. I feel like they are good shades but they aren't really my HG nude lipstick.

Here comes this lipstick. Could this be The One?
Whirl is described as a "dirty rose" with warm undertones and a satin-matte finish. I find shade this to be a deep pinky brown. It looks much darker in the tube (almost dark brown) than swatched on my arm. For shade comparison, Whirl is a tad darker and more brown than
Taupe,
Velvet Teddy is less brown and more rosey while
Kinda Sexy is much lighter and more coral-pink.

True to MAC's matte lipstick formula, this is a one coater. It has opaque coverage and it's highly pigmented. In addition, since this also a deep shade, you pretty much get excellent color payoff that's very buildable. You certainly get maximum color impact with minimal effort.

I feel that the formula for this particular shade is ever so slightly drier and less emollient than most of the matte lipsticks that I have. This is a tad less creamy and pulled a teeny tiny bit when I swatched it on my arms and lips.

The texture on the other hand is still the same - soft and velvety. I
didn't notice any settling along the lip lines although it did cling on
to the flaky bits of my lips. In this regard, exfoliation and maybe
applying a bit of lip balm before application would greatly help.

Wear time is longer than average due to the less creamy formula and
richer, deeper shade. It lasted up to five hours on my lips through a
light meal and a drink. This lipstick is slightly drying over time.

I feel like this comes close as being a good nude brown shade for me. I like that this is a deeper brown (though it can pull a bit of burgundy red on certain lighting) that's more noticeable on my pigmented lips. I am inclined to like this better than Taupe or Velvet Teddy although I will need to wear this more before I can truly decide how I feel about the color. This is certainly a very fashionable and "current" shade (hello there, Kylie Jenner) as we are currently enjoying a 90s brown lipstick revival. *_*
