Hello again! It have been rather cloudy lately, which is fine by me because I would prefer the rain over the hot humid weather. I've also been busting out more neutral colored lipsticks whenever I'm out and about. Also, I've been enjoying taking these Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks on test drive. I get to put on a new lipstick everyday. :D Next up is a not so brown-nude shade called Burgundy Blush.

696 Burgundy Blush is a deep brownish red burgundy with warm undertones and a satin finish. I'm not sure why it's included in Maybelline's "brown nudes" lineup since I consider this shade to be a bit vampy and not neutral, brown nor nude at all. I guess for more. duskier skin tones, this can look more of a brownish red, still not nude though. *_* Anyways, I think this color is a perfect accompaniment to a sultry, moody fall/winter/rainy season look.

Burgundy Blush has a good color payoff with an almost opaque coverage with one swipe. I did need two coats to achieve the desired full pigmentation. The color is also buildable so packing on the pigment was not a problem.

This applied evenly but not as smoothly as the previous two shades (Nude Embrace and Clay Crush) I have tried. Nevertheless, the more satiny finish and velvety feel made it easy to apply without any noticeable patches.

Texture is still somewhat creamy and the formula is lightweight and feels comfortable on the lips. I feel that this is somewhat drying over the time I was wearing it, mush so I feel like I needed to apply some lip balm after four/five hours. The color lasted for about six hours.
