Hello everyone and happy Friday. Let me end the work week with the last of the sun protection product I currently have in rotation, Belo SunExpert Whitening Sunscreen. I have reviewed some products from Belo in the past and they were mostly positive so I was quite hopeful for this one.

Benefits:
- Niacinamide and Brightening Essence lighten skin tone with regular usage
- SPF 50 and PA++ ensure broad spectrum protection against harmful UV rays
- Cell Protect strengthens skin’s defense against premature skin aging.
- Non-sticky and lightweight
- Water-resistant
- Immediate effectivity. Works as soon as you apply it.
- Clinically-proven safe for sensitive skin. Paraben-free. Non-comedogenic. Hypoallergenic. Dermatologist-tested.
- Cruelty-free.

Directions for use:
- Use every day after cleansing. Apply liberally onto face and neck.

This sunscreen comes in a yellow plastic tube with flip-top cap. This makes it easy to carry around and the times I had it on my bag, I didn't experience any leakage. The plastic tube feels handy and travel-friendly.

Belo SunExpert Whitening Sunscreen claims to offer both broad spectrum sun protection as well as skin tone lightening thanks to Niacinamide and Brightening Essence. I think in general, it does deliver on its promises with a some caveats.

What I love about this product is that it is very lightweight. Traditional sunblocks can feel very cloying, goopy and oily but this is definitely not. The formula feels almost watery so I was able to spread it out easily. In addition, due to creamy texture, this was easily absorbed and made my skin hydrated and moisturized.

Titanium dioxide provide the (mineral) physical sun protection (SPF 50 PA++) which is not as high as I would normally see in sun protection product from Korea or Japan. Those would have at the very least have SPF50+ PA+++ (Read my brief intro on sun protection HERE). Because of that, I would not recommend using this for outdoor activities or water activities as it will definitely not stay long.

Due to the Niacinamide in the ingredients, I had seen skin lightening results well into my fourth week of daily use. I have noticed that some pimple marks are less visible and had lightened, though not completely erased. If you want to even out your skin tone or get rid of dark blemishes, then I would not solely rely on this. Rather, this product can supplement other skin lightening  products.

Another pro for this sunscreen is that there was no visible white cast. My face didn't turn red and blotchy and makeup stayed put on top of this sunscreen. My face actually felt quite moisturized after applying this.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this sunscreen. This absorbed well and didn't feel greasy. It is affordable and the 50ml tube gives me enough product so I'm not inclined to skimp and actually apply the proper amount. With daily use, the tube can last for up to a month. Additionally, Belo SunExpert Whitening Sunscreen has skin lightening benefit which is an added bonus. On the downside, this is not for heavy duty outdoor use. If you are going to be in the sun for long periods or will be sweating, then I would recommend a higher SPF and PA factor. Personally, this has been my staple daily sunscreen for a month now and I would gladly repurchase.

Pros:
- Lightweight and absorbs well
- Moisturizing yet non-greasy
- Non-sticky and feels comfortable
- Skin lightening effect with regular use
- Doesn't disturb makeup
- Broad spectrum protection and high SPF
- Non-irritating and Paraben-free
- Almost scent-free
- Affordable

Cons:
- Not for heavy duty or outdoor use

  1. Can you put on additional moisturizers on top of it? Like olay day cream?
