Hello there everyone. It has been a rainy and windy week and I am truly missing the sun and going out. On the upside, I was able to sort through some of my stuff and rediscover "new" makeup and skincare. And to continue with my reviews, I have another cleansing product - Pond's Cleansing Balm.

If you know about the cult favorite Banila Co. Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm, then you would be familiar with this one as they are similar products. This one is marketed in the US as Pond’s Cold Cream Cleansing Balm while here in Asia, it is just Pond's Cleansing Balm.

About the product: via ponds.com
"Pond’s Cleansing Balm (Pond’s Cold Cream Cleansing Balm) isn't just a makeup remover; it's the first step of your skin care routine. This makeup remover comes in a solid balm texture that instantly dissolves heavy makeup and impurities while moisturizing to improve your skin.

An essential piece of any skin care regimen, Pond’s Cleansing Balm (Pond’s Cold Cream Cleansing Balm) deeply cleanses your face, easily melts away heavy makeup, and infuses skin with vital moisture. This all-in-one facial cleanser moisturizes and improves your skin, leaving it instantly soft, radiant and naturally glowing even without makeup. Easy rinse. Non-greasy."

Benefits:
- Easy to rinse off
- Non-drying

Cleansing balms have been a recent addition to my skincare routine. In the past, I just use the typical micellar water and foaming cleanser when I double cleanse or want to remove heavy makeup. I have always been intrigued with cleansing balms and have actually bought a Banila Co. Clean It Zero Sampler Kit. For some reason, I didn't not try them out until recently.

This cleansing balm comes in a twist off plastic tub with a spatula included (which in typical fashion, I have lost). You can immediately smell a strong rose scent when first opening the tub, but the fragrance dissipates to a bearable level after it has aired out. The scent is ok and tolerable (but one I could do without) when applied on the face.

I find that this cleansing balm has a thinner consistency compared to Banila Co.'s Clean It Zero (will review this soon). Otherwise, they both do the same job. I get a maybe a fourth of a teaspoon using a spatula and spread it on dry skin. The balm melts into an oily consistency upon contact and feels watery and spreadable. There is no greasy feeling. It's very enjoyable spreading and massaging this balm on my face for a few minutes. Whiteheads and blackheads get dislodged from my pores. Also, this cleansing balm is very effective in removing waterproof makeup gently. It is easy to rinse off and doesn't leave an oily nor sticky film. After each use use, my skin looks bright and soft. It also feels soft and supple. This balm feels nourishing on the skin.

Overall, Pond's Cleansing Balm delivered on all its claims. It gently removes heavy (waterproof) makeup as well as deeply cleanses skin. It easily and readily washes off with water (you can also use a wet cloth). This also doesn't leave any oily film. My skin looks refreshed and radiant and feels soft and smooth after use.

Pros:
- Silky and lightweight texture
- Deeply cleanses without drying skin
- Removes heavy makeup gently
- Removes impurities on the skin
- Nourishing, non-drying
- Readily available
- Affordable

Cons:
- Strong rose scent
