Free: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter
Hey guys. I'm now back with products reviews after a week of semi-hiatus. Hope you are all doing OK and not sick like I was.
Free lipstick!
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter comes FREE with Revlon ColorSilk Beautiful Color
The holidays are fast approaching and along with it are endless Christmas sales everywhere. One can't be expected to resist the temptation of buying stuff especially if they are at bargain prices, right? I picked up a couple of things last weekend and one of them was this Revlon ColorSilk Beautiful Color which came with a free Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter.

The Revlon hair color was on sale for Php 355 (normally Php 395) and the lip butter normally retail for around Php 550+ (not really sure). I don't color my hair and I didn't want the hair color but the free lipstick was too good to pass up.

Color: I picked up Peach Parfait which can be described as peachy-pink with warm undertones and golden shimmers. It looked darker on the tube than swatched. On my hand, the color applied as light pink with a hint of peach, the shimmers are quite obvious.

Texture: The lipstick was smooth and very creamy. It was very soft. I made the mistake of taking out too much product from the tube and ended up with a smooshed lipstick (see image below). I never did encounter such soft formula in lipsticks before.

I have to pop this in the refrigerator to harden it. I also had a hard time applying the lipstick directly on my lips because I can't apply too much pressure on it else it'll end up more smashed. I guess they went overboard on that "Buttery Balm" claim.

Also, I find the tiny shimmers to be a bit gritty on the lips. Although the lipstick felt light enough, I can definitely feel the glitters on my lips and it bothered me. In direct sunlight, the golden shimmers are very apparent.
Wish my lips looked like that!

Longevity: Since this has a softer texture and almost balmy formula, it didn't last too long on me. It faded quickly and lasted at most 2 hours on my lips through a light meal.
Color doesn't really show up

The light color also added to the lack of longevity as Peach Parfait is almost MLBB on my pigmented lips. Maybe a darker shade would fare better for this lip butter's sheer, light formula.

Pros:
Moisturizing
Creamy and light texture
Wide color/shade selection
Cute, sturdy packaging

Cons:
Pricey for a small amount of product
Very sheer color (Peach Parfait doesn’t quite show up on my lips)
Gritty shimmers

OverallRevlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait offers a sheer color with soft, creamy texture. The golden shimmers felt gritty on the lips and was quite bothersome. Lipstick is non-drying with light, non-sticky texture. I like the formula of Revlon's lip butter but don't particularly care for the Peach Parfait shade as the color didn't show up on my lips. Darker, less shimmery shades would definitely fare better and work for this kind of formula.
