Hello there. Continuing on with the MAC reviews, today's feature is all about the fiery bright, All Fired Up. This is a repromoted shade as part of MAC's Retro Matte Collection:

"With its one-of-a-kind Retro Matte texture, Ruby Woo Lipstick has become a smash hit both on and off the runway. Inspired by its stunning popularity, MAC has revamped this lipstick legend with invigorating, bold shades in its Retro Matte finish. Eye-catching new colours like Dangerous and All Fired Up create a look that’s feminine yet fierce."

All Fired Up is described as a "bright fuchsia matte." This color is a medium vivid fuchsia pinky red with a hint of blue undertones and a full matte finish. On me, the shade looks more red than pink and has a warmer tone which I think would complement most skin tones. I like that this brightened up my face without looking too loud and neon-y. For those who are easing into wearing reds, this is a great lipstick to start with. I didn't expect that I would like this color but this looks really flattering, brightening and cheery so this shade can be versatile and perfect for any occasion.

The upside of a matte lipstick is that they have, on average, full pigmentation. All Fired Up is no different. With this lipstick, color payoff is phenomenal. I get an opaque coverage with a single swipe. As expected, the Retro Matte formula is dry but this lipstick in particular is less dry (vs Ruby Woo). This has an almost creamy texture (comparing to a typical Retro Matte formula) which is more forgiving.

To keep lips from drying out, you need to exfoliate and hydrate lips before application. With proper prepping, this lipstick glided quite easily across my lips with some (tolerable) tugging. The color applied smoothly and evenly, with no settling and patchiness. It also did a good job of covering up my dry bits, with no bleeding and smudging along the lip lines.

This ultra pigmented lipstick wore really well. It felt lightweight and relatively comfortable, despite it being a matte formula. It lasted up to seven hours, needing no reapplication. This also left a stain which was a chore to cleanup. My lips did feel drier than usual so I have to apply lip balm during the course of wearing this.
