Hello everyone. I'm back? The world has been in a topsy-turvy state the past months and I am still reeling from everything that has been happening. There has been a lot of changes that I have not been able to focus on anything but keeping my self sane. I guess blogging about beauty, skincare and makeup seems trivial right now. I decided though that I need some sort of distraction so I am trying to get back to blogging. Somehow, just letting myself enjoy even trivial things like a trying out a new skincare product will keep me grounded.

Let me start with this toner from Nightingale. I bought three different kinds from their Daily Derma line from Althea's sale last year. I wish I bought more though because I got this for less than Php 400+ and now checking at Althea's site, they are already more than Php 1000. *_*

My skin was not at its best state late last year and I went on a full skincare overhaul to address the blemishes that have been popping up. This variant is the Lemon Tea Tree, which from the description "treats troubled skin." I was hoping that it would help to improve my skin.

This toner comes in a hefty 300ml plastic bottle with a press-down opening. The packaging was convenient and easy to open and close. I haven't experienced any spillage and I haven't also dropped this bottle once. I guess it would be okay to drop since this is plastic. I haven't tried bringing this on a trip so I can't attest if it is travel-friendly. I don't imagine you would want to travel with this big bottle so transferring the content to a smaller container would be prudent.

This toner has glycolic and salicylic acid as active ingredients. This also contains witch hazel, lemon oil, tea tree extract, and tea tree leaf extract. All of these help with addressing troubled skin. Glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid, is a great skin exfoliant which encourages faster skin turnover so skin looks brighter and smoother. Salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid, is usually used as an acne-treatment. It is oil-soluble so it is able to penetrate the skin more. It is also anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial.

With all the acids in this toner, I still consider it as mild. I didn't feel any sting on my first application, although I must say that my skin is used to acids at this point. For first time users of acids, I would suggest to patch test first as a precaution.

All these great ingredients come together to help improve my skin. After a week of daily use, I have noticed that my blemishes has begun to heal and dry up. It has also brightened my complexion and smoothened my skin texture. Overall, my skin has noticeable improvement after a month of use.

Once my pimple has healed, this toner has also helped with lightening up the blemishes on my skin. I observed less blackheads and my pores are noticeably less visible. This toner also feels hydrating and offered enough moisture on my skin that sometimes, I skip cream moisturizers and just use a serum right after this.

Pros:
- Mild and non-irritating
- Non-drying
- Brightening and smoothing
- Improves complexion
- Calms and promotes skin healing
- Has a mild tea tree scent
- Paraben-Free, Sulfate-Free, Alcohol-Free, Silicone-Free

Cons:
-  None
