Hi everyone. Let's start the week on a high note with a lipstick review. I have this Burberry lipstick for a year now but I dropped it a couple of times and it broke. I stored it somewhere and I completely forgot I had this until recently.

The two Burberry Lip Velvets (Oxblood and Rosewood) that I have have been a staple in my makeup kit. These Lip Velvets are some my favorites in my lipstick collection.

Rosy Red No. 428 can be described as medium-deep bright pink-red with blue undertones and a satin-matte finish. This shade was part of Burberry’s “London with Love” Collection created under the direction of Christopher Bailey. The summer collection is a joyful celebration of bright colour. This bright red color is beautiful and face brightening and it's really perfect you you want a pop of color on your face.

Pigmentation is excellent and the color payoff is really top notch. This has a slight luminosity that stills give an almost opaque coverage that can be built up to full coverage with two layers. Even the tiniest pat on the lips will yield good pigmentation.

Consistent with the Lip Velvet formula, this lipstick feels comfortable on. It is thin and lightweight and glides effortlessly across my lips without tugging nor pulling. Despite the matte formula, it feels smooth and creamy and non-drying non the lips. The color also stays put, doesn't feather and settle along my lip lines.

Rosy Red wore well for up to six hours. The color transfers but the pigment stays for several hours. It faded evenly and gradually so it still looked good on the lips even without reapplying. I still get a pretty red flush without any weird lines and residue. Being a matte formula, you would expect this to be drying but it wasn't. Instead, this lipstick was slightly hydrating and I didn't feel the need to apply a balm while I wore this.

The Burberry lip velvet line has one of the best matte formula I've tried. I would probably buy more if money is not an object. Still, the $35 price tag is worth it if you want a fully pigmented, non-drying, and comfortable matte lipstick.
