Hello everyone. It's hump day! The week is feeling very long but I am plowing through the monotony with makeup. I have been meaning to do a lipstick week feature to celebrate the upcoming Lipstick Day on July 29. Anyways, since it's already Wednesday, I will just do a series of lipstick reviews. First up is this pretty lipstick from Jill Stuart. I bought two of these from Sephora's Mid Year Sale. I'm reviewing the shade Bouquet for today.

Well, this lipstick does exude a lot of promise both on apperance and the supposed benefits. The plastic packaging looks very princess-y and might not be for everyone. I personally like the playfulness girliness of it. This pretty lipstick gives me a sense of delight. I would have preferred to have a tin packaging instead of plastic but I guess that would increase its price. I also also appreciate the (very) small mirror included which is helpful for emergency touch-ups.

39 Bouquet is part of Jill Stuart's Lip Blossom fall release for 2017. It's described as a "reddish pink that summons up the happiness of flowers, non-pearl."

The lipstick looks pinky-red on the tube but actually swatched as a light-medium rosey pink with blue undertones and a glossy satin finish. It looks bright on the tube but this color is very wearable. It looked flattering againts my yellow skin tones but this is pretty much a great everyday color and would suit all skin tones.

As described, the pigmentation is sheer with one layer and buildable to some extent. It won't  give a full opaque color as in the tube but adding even more layers deepens the color, without it looking powdery. I like the luminous effect it gives as it makes my lips look soft and supple. It smooths out imperfections, glides over drier areas and doesn't emphasize lip lines.

On lips: Jill Stuart Lip Blossom Lipstick in 39 Bouquet

The formula is very comfortable to wear. It is lightweight and almost feels like a lip balm, yet still feels lighter on that I can forget that I'm actually wearing lipstick. Application was smooth and even, with no dragging nor tugging.

I love my matte lipstick and rarely wear glosses. This lipstick is a great alternative to both. I get good pigmentation without the sticky-feel of lipgloss. It lipstick looks and feels creamy without being too shiny and I get the opaque pigmentation without my lips drying out.

The creamier formula means that this will transfer. I don't mind though as the color still lasts well, up to three hours. It faded evenly, didn't smudge and didn't settle on my lip lines. This is also hydrating to wear and I did not need to apply any lip balm underneath. On thing to note though is to be careful in exposing the lipstick to warm temperatures as it can melt in such condition.

This lipstick is a great choice for those looking for a non-drying lipstick. You get the best of both worlds: adequate pigment and moisturizing formula. Jill Stuart Lip Blossom Lipstick in 39 Bouquet is very comfortable to wear and the shade is universally flattering across all skin tones.
